FALL GETAWAY 2023: WATCH THE LEAVES TURN IN HURON PERTH

Updated: Oct 9, 2023

As the nature slowly eases into fall with cooler temperatures and flowers giving way to brilliant foliage in jewel colours, here comes the time to plan your fall getaway. Book our suite between October 1 and November 30, 2003 for a fall themed mini vacation. Enjoy a weekend or a weekday of gourmet cooking, nature walks and day tripping in Perth and Huron counties. Our suite features 2 bedrooms, one with a Queen Size bed and the other with 1 or 2 Single Beds, which makes it suitable not only for couples, but also for families and groups of friends. Let us take care of your comfort and meals, so that you can relax, reconnect and go on some local adventures.

Arrive for a fall themed gourmet 3 course dinner*** with full table service in our beautiful dining room, then linger over dessert and a drink, play pool and other board games in our lounge. Or retreat into your suite with a soaker tub, in-room refreshments, plush bath robes, slippers and fancy bath bombs. Enjoy our Netflix package or your favourite shows on YouTube.

After a delicious full breakfast that starts at the time of your choosing, go for a beautiful nature walk starting with our gardens and onto the West Perth Nature Trail and Lions Animal Park, absorb the tranquility and gorgeous colours of fall.

Go for a day tripping adventure. A short picturesque drive will take you to the villages of Dublin, Bayfield or Shakespeare with their boutiques and antique shops. During this time there will be many local craft fairs in the area, and we will keep you up to date on these, in case you would like to stop by (these are always lots of fun and get me inspired for Christmas shopping ahead).

Visit Lavender Works Co. Farm and Boutique. Although the blooming season is over, the picturesque 23 min drive there and the view will be gorgeous in the fall. The boutique remains open and is well stocked with lavender products freshly made on site and other interesting items: https://www.lavenderworks.ca/

Here are just a few interesting things to do and destinations to visit while you are here. These are sure to make the time fly by. There is so much to see and do around us! Here is a link to a page where I keep track of all local happenings and points of interest for our guests: https://www.starlingsandroses.ca/post/fall-2023-what-to-see-do

And, of course, there is Stratford & Shakespeare with their shops and great restaurants on the main street (20 min drive from us, 28 - to Shakespeare). Stratford Festival season runs until the end of October, so there is still an opportunity to see a world-class play.

There will be plenty of very nice places to have a dinner out or you can return to the B&B and enjoy another dinner prepared especially for you.

Just like nature our menu has taken on rich harvest notes, grilling giving way to roasting. All the favourites, such as lamb, chicken, trout and duck confit are going strong with summer veggie sides replaced by roasted squashes and root vegetables. There is luscious pumpkin pie with real whipped cream and we can make you a pumpkin spice latte with freshly ground beans at our coffee bar any time. We can even put it into a travel cup for you to take along for your walk or a day trip along with some freshly baked pasties of your choosing. Not a coffee drinker? - No problem. We have a large selection of gourmet teas and hot chocolates, soft drinks, still and sparkling waters.

***Delicious breakfast is included for every morning, other meals can be added for an extra charge. Children 12 and under stay and eat free and weekly rates apply. Book now and let us make your getaway special. Please get in touch if you have any questions or would like to discuss: (647) 993-7331.
